... och så var det den öppna rasismen som finns i USA

(och andra delar av världen)...

McCain notably toned down his rhetoric during a sweep through Minnesota, responding to one woman who called Obama an Arab: "No, ma'am. No, ma'am. He is a decent family man, citizen, that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues."
(From the article "John McCain tones down high-risk negative campaign" at the guardian.co.uk 13-10-2008

So, does this mean that Obama cannot be an Arab cause he is a decent family man? How on earth is that toning down your rethorics? Excuse me, this might come as a shock to all of you who believe otherwise, but Arab men are very capable of being decent family men. Surprised? Well, you should not be. Actually, it's even the rule, not the exception.

I assure you that I, as a arab find myself more decent than many non-arabs. Not judging anyone. But you have to realize that, just because you feel your race is superior to all the rest, it doesnt give you the right to disrespect the other races. Cause, believe it or not, but their races are felt as being the superior in their own perception of the world.

So, please anyone sharing this stupid, open kind of racism. Get yourself an internet connection, google a worldmap and realize that YOU are just a tiny, stupid thing on the face of this earth. Get perspective... Seriously.

No ma'am, no ma'am.. I must disagree with You on this point and defend McCain's response. What he said no to, is the woman's claim that Obama cannot be trusted and implicitly that he is a dangerous man. Easy to misunderstand I know.. :-)

No, I still believe it was as a response to the accusation that Obama is dangerous from what that woman has been reading.. :-P

I agree with you that it's stupid that stupid people equale being an arab to being a terrorist or threat to national security. That woman is (as bill maher) a class 5 moron.

But to McCain's defense (not that i'm siding with him or anything), he was tring to explain something to a class 5 moron. So if she is going to even have a chance at understanding it, it must be put into a language she can understand, and i think that was what McCain was doing.

The fact that such people att supporting McCain, says a lot about him, i think.
